Yes he did. The first step for any kind of negotiations is for Ukraine to formally repeal that misadventure of a decree. 😂

@Blanka1100 you're not very intelligent are you? Russia didn't invade Finland in over 85 years of neutrality.

@oneshothunter9877 yet the strongest military alliance in history can do nothing while Russia runs rampant in Ukraine with those harmless threats.. What a shame😂

DW is German State media, just in case you forgot.

@brianleonard6598Â in Yugoslavia NATO forces directly supported the balkanization that gave birth to 4 new NATO states. Which is worse, because they actually invaded Yugoslavia to do so after bombing Belgrade. If supporting self determination is good for the US, it's good for Russia. Measure yourself with the same rule you use for Russia.

@brianleonard6598 no it's not. Russias relationship with Finland is completely different from Ukraine, and this was a politically motivated move done without the express approval of Finnish citizens via a referendum, just the fiat decision of Sauli Niinisto who famously said "the referendum to join NATO is no longer necessary". Your logic is akin to Mexico's president passing a decree to go into a military alliance with China because the US occupied Syria illegally for 8 years.

@brianleonard6598Â what countries did Russia invade or threaten to invade between 1991 and 1999, when NATO expanded for the first time? That alone proves that NATO expansion is a preemptive attempt of the US to negate Russian strategic missile deterrence. Russia is right to interpret this as an act of war and react accordingly.

@brianleonard6598Â did Russia invade Moldova? How did they get into Moldova across Ukraine and Belarus? And what happened to that war? And calling Chechnya is really funny... Chechnya is part of Russia and it was a civil war. You're plucking at straws like a drowning man.

@brianleonard6598Â "the referendum to join NATO is no longer necessary"- Sauli Niinisto. And then he applied to join NATO with his PM. We're pretty much in agreement except for when you call politicians "countries". They're not. They're given a mandate to lead for a fixed period during which they wield state power to do as they wish depending on what political backing they have to pull it off.

No European country can project strength against Russia. Only mutual respect will bring any kind of lasting peace. The times of talking bs "we don't negotiate with dictators" are over. Wake the fucc up

@oneshothunter9877 the time doesn't matter when 40 years later the Donbass is still Russian and the 800k dead Ukrainians are still dead. War isn't a videogame that you can complete in 4 days (or 40 hours if you're jobless which i suspect). 🤡

@randomguy7175 because Germany is a puppet of Ukraine. Zelensky can just abolish the office of the Chancellor and rule by remote control from Kyiv and the Bundestag will nod their heads in unison.
