  1. Russia was living in peace with Europe for 8 years after the fall of the USSR until NATO made the poorly advised decision to break its promise to Gorbachev and expand eastward. They didn't stop there, they also decided to refuse all negotiations to limits as well as withdraw from several key arms treaties. Now Russia is back on the war trail, because Russia has the right to defend itself.

  2.  @adlerzwei  people without souls, conscience or morals make promises and then break them and give all sorts of excuses for their malfeasance. Even as an outsider, a neutral, I often find myself asking: why would a military alliance expand in peacetime? Aren't they aware they're upsetting the balance of power and peace in Europe? No responsible father goes to sleep with fire on his roof. He will wake up and do whatever it takes to prevent getting burnt in his sleep.

  3.  @Earthboundmike  Russia doesn't need to wait until it's surrounded with dual purpose ABM/strike missiles in all 360° before doing whatever it has to do to defend itself.

  4.  @Phelec59  Ukraine already used western supplies drones to strike Moscow, until the Russians edited the radar frequencies and revamped customs. Now they simply can't anymore.

  9. No it means they can buy more weapons in spite of the heaviest sanctions regime the West can muster. Fun fact: China hasn't even started supplying Russia with arms yet. Russia will make a wall of bullets 2000km long with it.
