There is no law that limits weather balloons to a particular size. This does NOT make sense.

@Coma White I can't believe the people that think floating a harmless weather balloon over their country is a threat but expanding a nuclear armed adversary alliance to more of Russia's borders into Russia's only ice free port is "not a threat". You guys must be kidding me.

@christopherjackson2157 exactly.

@CoryConti1 no it doesn't. It just shows two people with defective reasoning. Let's use timestamps and I'll break it down for you. For example, first guy said its unlikely to be a weather balloon because its larger than a regular one at 2:48. This is defective reasoning- who says there has to be a limit on its size? TLDR- its an overreaction.

@techguy9023 don't you know balloons can be blown off course?
3
@First-Last_name wow, it has a propulsion system? That's a lie. The first guy said "according to reports" what reports and where is the evidence?

@declup uh, okay. The name calling has begun, and in that case, I'm out. Won't stoop to your level.

@playgirl7305 there's a concerted effort to push hysteria in the media these days that sometimes I just feel there's nothing that can prevent us from destroying ourselves. I don't think the world peace that has used to exist and that we long after, can ever be achieved with minds like these in the majority.

I will only believe its a spy balloon if Pentagon can show cameras and sensors recovered from the debris. China said its a weather balloon and the first dude at 2:20 said there were reports that he balloon had propellers. Where is the evidence? What is the source of these reports? He goes ahead to say its unlikely to be a weather balloon because its larger than a regular one at 2:48. This is defective reasoning- who says there has to be a limit on its size? The other dude at 3:52 said "Beijing is not transparent enough for folks to know what's gong on" WHAAT does this mean? They just said what it is- a weather balloon. This looks like obstinate determination to sell a narrative.

At this point I think the Chinese government is stirring up its people to a war mentality just like the American government does, so they give US a bait and use your response to radicalize their people. False flag, is that what is called?

@wulfyiff9633 that's not good enough. China already has spy satellites that can obtain multispectral imagery with resolution in single digit meters and if they want signals all they have to do is use an agent on the ground from the comfort of his car.

@First-Last_name weather balloons are used for research and research often varies parameters to achieve wider sample pools of results in this case buoyancy of the balloon. You can't limit research to strict parameters.. it appears you don't know much about research. Your "if" premise is defective. And it hasn't been confirmed this balloon had any means of propulsion. Not a single picture shows this, of the dozens of pictures we've seen. You're probably overreacting without evidence like the two dudes being interviewed

@alvallac2171 you might want to intimidate a non native speaker like me with your command of English, but I assure you that others reading my replies with an open mind understand exactly what I'm saying. 🙂

@Astarath an agent on the ground in a car or in a hotel room can do so much better than a balloon at intercepting signals.
