  2. Thats what sanctions are: punishing a whole nation by Putin's actions. Dostoevsky has been banned, Russian folks have their properties siezed, athletes banned, Yuri Gagarin's name is being avoided in space exploration circles and even Russian cats are not spared from the sanctions. Russophobia is actually quite prevalent in the West, you just might not have been paying attention.
