Yeah but at the moment Russia has no choice. Putin will cling to power until Russia has secured it's economic and security alliances with the rest of the world bar West, and adequately deters threats to it's borders. Only then will putin step down- and his successor isn't guaranteed to be nicer. As we can all see, Medvedev who seemed nice initially, is actually much worse.

@alyonapetrova694 that's why negotiations are very important. Keeping to treaties and agreements are very important, as well as maintaining the balance of power and peace. Military alliances shouldn't be expanding in peacetime, nuclear arms limitation treaties shouldn't be broken. However all of the above have been taking place in Europe, and everyone is guilty with only the exception of Austria, Serbia and Switzerland.
