@NatalieCompton-m6r hi Natalie, I'm from Nigeria in Africa. I spent my childhood reading lots of books about past wars including the Cold war era and I know for sure the whole world was happy when it was over. The mood in the early 90s was one of enthusiasm for integration and friendship of Russia and the West, I remember how interested in each other they were. Even recently the gun enthusiast communities in the US have great friendship with their Russian counterparts testing each other's weapons and having fun together. The recent atmosphere of enmity and hate is a recent development created by mischievous politicians who want to resurrect old conflicts to enrich themselves with. Remember in 2018 when Trump and Putin were best buddies hosting the football world cup and making history. I've seen the narrative evolve with the administrations and times, and hope is thin that new generations of Americans will rise above their programming to extend a hand of friendship to Russia, but it lives on. The survival of our planet depends on it. Cheers.
