@steveb890 I only know about VDV, whose general was sacked for his terrible mistake. The vast majority of Russia's land forces retreated to the Donbass just as the first Ukrainian attacks began to hit them. There was no digging in for a fight around Kyiv, even the TOS-1As (the Russian siege MLRS) were the first to retreat. In all that time even the Russian Navy hadn't started firing it's first missiles. I remember that stage of the war like it was yesterday. Russia pulled back from Kyiv the same way they did in Kherson, except in the latter, they announced it first.

You wish. Where are the remains of the other Wagner fighter captured by Ukraine when he was trying to escape to Sweden a few months ago? An enemy cannot suddenly turn into a friend. They're fugitives now.
