Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) accounts for per capita adjustments and reflects the relative price of goods and prevailing exchange rates. These calculations favor countries like Russia and China where goods are generally cheaper than in the West. Russia is no 5 in the world.

Interest rates are not some kind of metric to judge levels of "poverty" which I mentioned in the original comment, they're tools used by central banks to control inflation and prevent capital flight that might be brought on by disrupted logistics or SANCTIONS. Poverty is best estimated by the purchasing power of the citizenry, which can be raised by sound economic policies and a foreign trade surplus as is being done right now, hence my reference to PPP. Don't come at me with dum responses, put your back into it and do your research or I'll embarrass you.🤣
