  3.  @ThinkingBetter  Gombo Tsydynzhapov did a good job of discussing the many chances for social uplifts if one wanted to work hard, get an education, and work in top notch engineering, science, and technical fields. Also, education was free and students received stipend. All citizens required to work. Guaranteed jobs. Medical care, schooling, housing, daycare, subsidized utilities, maternity leave paid, paid vacations, and for many people too. Many perks for citizens. Even factory workers' pay was okay. Good education, healthcare and vacations? I'll take that as a good metric of quality of life. Just pick a history book written before the last 10 years, and educate yourself.
