Ok so hereā€™s the thing the reason Texans have said they have the right to secede is because they never have actually read and researched things they claim the annexation treaty had a clause that said they could secede whenever they wanted but the fact is that someone at some point in time decided to spread misinformation and confuse the public because it actually says that Texas can split itself into at most 5 states essentially seceding from itself and with such phrasing likely got mixed up by some Texan nationalist
