I tell my boys not to cry, it just looks terrible and weak. I know now as an adult crying is good for you but there is a time and a place and you'd better be on your own or with someone you trust, or try to hold it back if you're with someone you don't trust. You need to have an air of leadership and composure about you as a man, to give the impression that you've got your shit together or the whole illusion of strength seeps into those around you and everything becomes weak because you couldn't show resilience. It does bet beat out of you as a boy but it's for the betterment of everyone else around you, you take on everyone's stresses and worries, that's your role as a man
