@LabKritter Yes, Nixon was an active VP as Eisenhower was ill and rarely at the resolute desk. That's history. You are welcome to your own opinion, but not to your own facts. Nixon was indeed, "remarkable".

@goclimbsomething Kennedy was rapidly maturing as a person while President. He lied to the American people, but believed that part of the job. Nixon was much older when he took the office. By 1970, and I was 15 at the time, we were near civil war in the America over Vietnam and systemic Racism. When the leaks started, and then the Pentagon Papers hit the NYTs, he failed to weather that storm and bad some very bad political decisions, one was to move Mitchell out as AG to run the 1972 campaign. We can compare Nixon and Kennedy in 1960, but not in the context of what we know in 2024.
