When the 3rd Arab Congress in Palestine was rebuffed by the British in 1921, they threatened to side with Germany or Russia, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who helped found the Muslim League and Muslim Brotherhood, befriended Adolf Eichmann, received a congratulatory telegram from Himmler, and met with Hitler in 1941 to discuss a "Final Solution". In 1972 the PLO stormed the Olympics in Munich with the coordination of the IRA. Some old-time IRA still hang with the Muslim Brotherhood of old. I know, one is a family friend. We're not talking at this point.

  9.  @markadams738  Wiki is a good starting point, but agree, for about the last 10 years it has not been reliable. Ireland was neutral in WW2, Herzog had already Aliyahed and was in the Haganah in Israel late 1930s. Some Arabs in Jerusalem fought with the Nazis. Amin al-Husseini.

The Soviets agreed, and the first weapons shipment was delivered in 1972
