The law is murky after it was overlaid with another law about "dangerous weapons" with a certain barrel length. You can carry a gun in Wisconsin as early as 10 years old under supervision of an adult, and over 16 under certain circumstances, the judge decided to go with the 1991 law, but could have gone with the earlier one which is a class A misdemeanor. It's not a lie to say it was "illegal", but only true to say he was not charged. Unclear law favors the defense, but the original law clearly wanted minors to only carry under adult supervision, I've read it.

@llllAp3xllll "special circumstances" did not apply to Kyle, he would have been guilty under that statute, in 1991 the law was amended and made the law unclear, saying it was okay if the barrel length was over a certain amount, and Kyle's was, so the Judge went with that interpretation, and not the earlier one which requires adult supervision for a minor. Poorly written law favored the defense in this case.

Wisconsin is a farming / rural area and even a 10 year old can carry a weapon under adult supervision. It's not a problem.

Jury pool is from Kenosha which is approx 86% white, you don't know how it works.

@icyhawt2854 Fact can be "racist" in Post-Modern, Critical Theory academics, which have been taught now for 50 years, where have you been?

"now" most likely you have always believed that.

In Wisconsin, it is legal for even a 10 year old to carry and use a gun under supervision, it's a rural farm area, lots of hunting, part of the culture. Not a problem.

@timeforchange3786 Sort of legal, it is murky, the law is not clear, and the judge threw it out because of that. The intent is to allow minors to carry, but with adult supervision, something Kyle did not have.
