California will perhaps see a 400% over average snowpack this year, and will La Nina ending, more wet weather to come, which is a counterfactual balance to all the BBC reporting on the fiery end to California.

Don't be fooled, even the beach at Malibu gets snow on occasion. I've lived here since 1955 and walked in the snow to school in 1962, rare, but not unheard of.

@skytl3431 We get snow every year, and I've had snow cones in the Summer on top of Mt. San Gregorio which is 11,508' in the San Bernardino mountain range you see on the flight into Los Angeles.

Blizzard waring was not for city of Los Angeles, but was for parts of Los Angeles County which is 1,500 square miles and encompasses a mountain range and elevations above 1,000 feet. Even with easy access to info, BBC gets it wrong.

Some areas of Los Angeles County got more than 4 feet of snow, the blizzard warnings are for areas above 1,000 feet, you're on the internet, go check it out. I live at the beach but can see mountains over 10,000 feet from my patio which are less than 75 miles away. We can surf and ski all in the same day.

East Palestine is overhyped, the people there should sue the railroad over property values, but the media, too. This is a political football, not an environmental threat to all of Ohio.

@stephensonjoe No exaggeration, easy to check Cal/Nev Snow Precipitation average already about 200% above the "mean". so is Arizona, and this recent storm has yet to be counted, Let's circle back on April 1st, season end, to see. La Nina ends, so perhaps El Nino to come, the "new normal" we've been hearing about is nonsense, but climate change is not. Funny, I've not heard any news media here in California referring to "climate change" during the storms except for a few weeks ago when Al Gore did a diatribe on "atmospheric rivers" and the end of time, he should grow long hair, a beard, and carry a staff for his Jerimiahs.

@stephensonjoe Already Statewide snowpack is 192% of normal, according to state data. In the Southern Sierra, it's 232% of normal. Snowpack typically provides about one-third of California's water supply. More to come.
