  2. I'm in California, but believe there are "bots" here in the thread. I don't "support" Russia, but the borders of Ukraine are something of a "mistake", and Russia does have an interest in not having a corrupt state next door become a member of NATO with nukes. I get that.

  6.  @Nabsolute_  I don't believe "all" dissenting or opposition comments are false flags or BOTS, but some are. I don't agree they are the level of threat our intel community says it is, nor is it as distributive as they believe. However, the Department of Homeland Security has recently defined "Misinformation, Disinformation, and Malinformation" in a bulletin you can read online. DHS MDM. Very scary stuff.

  11.  @VHS_NEON  Only a few nations recognize Taiwan as such, and if you support the ROC, then mainland China is still being held by a military coup and is illegitimate. I wish Taiwan were fully independent, but it is not, and the civil war continues and will not be resolved until it is.

  12.  @krakhedd  Yes, that's a good point, however, I think of my own Great-Grandparents who fled the Russian Empire in the late 19th Century to avoid forced conscription. Russian influence goes back a few hundred years as part of Peter the Great's move into the area. It's complicated. On a side-note, I have a friend who is of Ukrainian ancestry but was born in Castro Cuba, she and her family fled to America.

  13.  @krakhedd  You may be overlooking the Ukrainian role in WW2 in those areas being claimed by Russian separatists. Some very strong feelings your history lesson does not overcome.

  17.  @shypshyna787  Yes, but how effective is it, really? My government in America is exaggerating the effect for internal political reason, just as Russia is doing. Kipling, in 1900, wrote about it in his novel, KIM, and referred to it as THE GREAT GAME, which is still going on.

I'm listening to news media in my country, U.S., and it aligns with our domestic issues, energy costs, military expenditure, and presidential politics. Few know the history of Ukraine and Russia, or care, so BOTS are just not effective. If I asked the average American about nuclear weapons and the Minsk agreement, they'd have no idea. I see Putin's situation, NATO or no NATO, and get it. NATO charter will not allow Ukraine in with this ongoing conflict. The GREAT GAME is not in public view, not at all.

  19.  @Max_Mustermann  The Russians, well before the Soviet Union, as far back as the 1700s, saw Crimea as a bulwark against incursion from the Islamic East. Imperialism perhaps, but not colonialism.
