I'm a California Democrat and don't see it going back at all, but forward to a new-left agenda on the Social-Democrat model which will just not work here. Our geographics, demographics, and cultural heritage are all against it. Your assertion is baseless, and fundamentally flawed.

Yeah, I listened to the hearings on C-Span, and then watched the BBC and cringed. You are not alone. I'm trying to understand what's going on, not just here in America, but in the UK and England, too. It appears social cohesion is more valued than truth. That's the best I can come up with so far.

The constitution is clear on religious tests, so we can put that aside, and ACB made it clear that when she decides a case, she looks with a sense of empathy as to how the other side would view it before commiting to a judgement. I think that's about the best you can ask from an imperfect human being. Your assertion as to her integrity is true of all of us, and why America has a distributed form of power. We are not appointing her "Queen".

@philipbenjamin4720 "Personal Responsibility", yes, we are not far apart on that, or the power of agency, which the majority gives up in return for safety and social cohesion. It is not a requirement that a Justice be formerly a judge. Kagan never sat on the bench, and we've had non-lawyers on the bench before. The "religious test" was no "enshrinement", it is there as a response to bloody conflicts in Europe which were fresh in the minds of those who wrote the founding documents. Distributed, balanced power, is still our framework, and has withstood many challenges, the one you described is yet another one. I am non secular, but see the "Long March" of the new-left a threat to everyone's freedoms, as you do, and tracking changes in the UK, with its attacks on free speech and personal freedom, is quite disturbing, and why the decline of the BBC is so sad.

@yoodleyoda6228 So did Ginsburg in 1985, said Roe was the wrong case to bring, and that she had a different one in mind. Roe is routinely trashed by both the left and right. You just don't know that.

@yoodleyoda6228 I don't disagree, you did. ACB said Roe was not super precedent, which is correct, and an answer Klobuchar would not accept as true, but it is true, and RGB agreed. Whatever you think about abortion, it should be decided by legislation, not the court. That was both ACB and RBG's opinion, and I agree. Klobuchar was way out of line, and breaking down emotionally, when ACB calmly held her ground. She gets my vote.

@KofiWilliams There are "anomalies" this time, too, and not fraud, but in votes being made by Hispanics and male African Americans. Dems are also afraid too afraid of going to the polls because of Covid, and that may also have an affect, too close to call. I am betting on African Americans who are under polled and can't stand either Biden or Harris.... that's my prediction.
