  1. "Hundreds", there are perhaps 300 million guns either owned or for sale in the US. Gun buybacks have been going on for decades, this is not new, and certainly not any sort of trend.

  2. UK armed response units or police firearms units are teams of armed Police Officers tasked with countering crimes committed by armed criminals. Each UK police force has its own firearms team of some form. The most well known firearms unit is the Met Police’s SCO19.

  3.  @jeffreyprezalar220  Pew research stat 2017 30% own guns, it's just those folks own more than one gun. "Estimates" are published widely as 1.2 guns per capita, not 3.4.

  4. UK has 1/5th the population of the US and is the size of California. Hardly a comparison. The UK does have armed Police Units.

  6.  @carrisasteveinnes1596  Hardly, there are only a little more than a million registered gun owners, and widely published stats put estimated numbers of civilian guns at 1.2 per capita, so perhaps 350 million, but that's is an estimate.
