no. any other person would not have been charged with a felony.

This was not SCOTUS, but the New York state court. The conviction will allow Trump to move to appeal. Unconditional Discharge is part of NY State Penal Code, applied to rich and poor alike.

We elected him because of this lawfare by the Dems.

Johnson correct, millions fighting to get here.

no, this is a State charge, only can pardon Federal charge.

I'm in California, the homeless get free cellphones and healthcare.
2
under appeal, the conviction can be both overturned or expunged. I committed a felony in California and it was expunged which means legally no conviction.

This wasn't "mercy" it was pragmatic while the case is being appealed.
1
@jaimehaiti9479 The official conviction is required to mount an appeal.

I've been hearing that rhetoric since the year 1900 spoken by anarchists and socialists. American will never hand over the means of production to the State.

N.Y. Penal Law § 65.20 1. Criteria. The court may impose a sentence of unconditional discharge in any case where it is authorized to impose a sentence of conditional discharge under section 65.05 if the court is of the opinion that no proper purpose would be served by imposing any condition upon the defendant's release. 2. Sentence. When the court imposes a sentence of unconditional discharge, the defendant shall be released with respect to the conviction for which the sentence is imposed without imprisonment, fine or probation supervision. A sentence of unconditional discharge is for all purposes a final judgment of conviction. N.Y. Penal Law § 65.20

Conviction allows Trump to appeal. It's a BIG difference.

@SOGtv-76 In New York State, you can appeal a guilty verdict within 30 days from the date of sentencing or the service of an order not included in the judgment. Based on the above, the clock starts for appeal, not after guilty verdict, but after sentencing, which will be officially Jan 10th.
1
@SOGtv-76 Donald Trump will be able to appeal the New York state verdict after sentencing. His legal team has already indicated plans to pursue appellate options. This means that even after the sentencing, Trump can challenge the verdict in higher courts, seeking to overturn or modify the decision. - USA TODAY

No, the law used is for everyone.

@blutongue1 those three represent a professional class of politician that DJT does not belong to. He's the outsider who came in an won. They hate him, hold the power of the court system and went after him. It's call "lawfare" and what got him elected. Obama responsible for the death of an American citizen, a teenager, but he is protected. The Biden family clearly used the executive office to enrich themselves, but are protected by their class. Kamala is an empty suit, nothing, a puppet.
1
@goodday512 clearly if you do look at the timelines, charges were modified to be felonies and Trump will win on appeal.

not a rapist, Bill Clinton was a rapist, used a cigar.

False, this law is used for both rich and poor “N.Y. Penal Law § 65.20” - Unconditional Discharge.

@lise1255 Hyper-Empathy is deadly and creates counter-incentives for behavior. This is why San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles and San Diego are all looking at these incentives and re-thinking them. Here in Los Angeles Country we just fired the Soros backed DA. Look at Canada, they are about to make a big swing from the left to center-right. Woke is dead.

@lise1255 nonsense. The dollar is the reserve capital for the world which is way Britain and Japan purchase our debt. Homelessness in the UK analysis found that one in every 200 households in the UK is experiencing homelessness. This means the UK has one of the highest rates of homelessness among developed countries. "The US per capita homelessness rate as of 2023 was approximately 19.4 people experiencing homelessness per 10,000 population" - U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH)

@lise1255 The poorest state in the US, Mississippi, has the lowest homeless rate in the nation - U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH)
