  1. Southern California coast below avg temps all spring and summer. Death Valley only a 4 1/2 hour drive from deep snow at Mammoth Lakes, CA. Still skiing there because of record snow.

  3. Death Valley earned its name in 1850 when a group of pioneers were lost there in Winter, they thought they were all going to die, but only one did. Ironically, the exaggeration aboutt he place started almost 200 years ago.

  4. I love Palm Desert, CA in the summer, dry heat 110 degrees, still play basketball and I'm pushing 70, been doing it there in the summer for 20 yeas.
