  23.  @paddy9091  No, it was not genocide. The intent of the B52 bombing and operation "Arc Light" was to destroy enemy concentrations besieging Khe Sanh in 1968 and in 1972 at An Loc and Kontum. Nixon started using B52s again in 1973 to restart talks to end the war. It was never systemic "genocide". I was 18 in 1973. More missions under Nixon than LBJ, including the secret bombing of Cambodia and Laos. The documents were unsealed in 2000 by Bill Clinton. We know why, and it was never genocide.

  24.  @paul7TM  My buddy was MACV-SOG in Vietnam 1970/71, dropped into Cambodia. Was is hell, and judgements based on hindsight or presentism are difficult. We must remember epistemic humility. All war is a crime. The barbarism of the Napoleonic wars would make both Vietnam and Gaza look like tea-parities.
