Comments by "nuqwestr" (@nuqwestr) on "Israel releases Palestinian prisoners after Hamas frees Israeli hostages in Gaza | BBC News" video.
"Children" is defined as anyone under the age of 18. The 16 year old "prisoners" are considered to be of the age of legal responsibility, just as they are in Jordan and Egypt.

"Kids"? The age of legal responsibility in Jordan and Egypt is 12, same as Israel

Yes, Oslo gives Israel right to enforcement in the territories. Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) have a security coordination agreement that allows for cooperation in combating terrorism in the West Bank. This agreement, which has been in place since the Oslo Accords, involves sharing intelligence and conducting joint operations to target militant groups

@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeings Israel has 1.9 million Arab citizens, 20% of the population. They serve on Knesset, the Supreme Court and in the IDF. Are you saying Tel-Aviv is "occupied"?

President Thomas Jefferson sent ships to free American hostages from Tripoli during the First Barbary/Muslim War (1801-1805). The conflict began when Tripoli declared war on the United States over disputes regarding tribute payments. Jefferson refused to pay the demanded tribute and instead dispatched a naval squadron to the Mediterranean. One notable mission was led by Lieutenant Stephen Decatur, who undertook a daring raid to destroy the captured U.S. frigate Philadelphia in the harbor of Tripoli in 1804. The combination of naval blockades and an overland expedition ultimately led to a peace treaty favorable to the United States in 1805.

@MuslimDraco Jordanian law allows for the imprisonment of children as young as 12 years old under certain circumstances. For example, under the Jordanian Penal Code, a child who is 12 years old can be held criminally responsible and potentially face imprisonment if it is proven that they understood the nature and consequences of their actions when committing a crime.
3
@MuslimDraco Under UK law, a 12-year-old can be imprisoned. For example, a 12-year-old could receive a *Detention and Training Order (DTO)* for committing a grave crime, such as a violent offense or possession of weapons.

They were not in "PALESTINE" they were in ISRAEL.

@MuslimDraco Under Egyptian law, children as young as 12 years old can be held criminally responsible and face imprisonment. For example, in cases where a child commits a crime that is considered serious, such as theft or assault, they can be prosecuted and, if found guilty, sentenced to imprisonment. The Child Law No. 12 of 1996 outlines the procedures and penalties for children involved in criminal activities.

Taqiyya

"Kids"? The age of legal responsibility in Jordan and Egypt is 12, same as Israel.

Hamas and IPJ took innocent Thai workers as HOSTAGES and made demands. Israel did not. There is no equivalence.
1
"Kids"? The age of criminal responsibility in Jordan and Egypt is 12, same as Israel. Why the double-standard?
1
Egypt controlled Gaza until 1967. Hamas took over Gaza 14 June 2007. Your Taqiyya is weak and getting your nowhere.
1
@SadaK-tr6dm Nonsense, there are several reports everyday of incursions by terrorists into Israel. At least you don't deny the massacre happened. Some do. You call Israel a terrorist nation. You hate Israel. That's a well understood fact, and has been true since 1947/48 and before, Read this report online: Report on the State of Palestine presented to the Right Honourable Mr. Winston Churchill P.C., M.P. by the Executive Committee of the Third Arab Palestine Congress. Jerusalem, March 28, 1921.

Sure, moms and kids were suicide bombers during the 2nd intifada, and moms still teach hate to their children. Just watch a little Arabic al-Jazeera or teaching materials from UNRWA. A death cult.
1
@chairforceoneYT ? Arab DNA was on the ships with Columbus. During the Spanish Inquisition, Muslim converts to Christianity were called "Moriscos". The term "Morisco" means "little Moor" in Spanish and referred to former Muslims and their descendants who were forcibly converted to Christianity
1
@chairforceoneYT ? Not sure what you are saying? 1492 Spain and Portugal kicked out Jews/Muslims unless they converted. Many did, and then migrated to the Western Hemisphere, Jews especially to Northern Brazil. So, yes, Arabs and Jews did colonize the Americas.
1
There are no "indigenous" people of the Middle East. Are you a Racist? Do you require a Racial Test to be a citizen of the region? Should a particular Race had dominance and demand submission to that superiority? There are 1.9 million Arab citizens of Israel. Show me the comparable in the region. Jordan's King had a British step-mom, too.
1
False equivalence, obviously taqiyya. How'd that working for you. You have the PR fantasy on your side, but on the ground you lose, and lose, and lose.
1
@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeings Jordan is a "Semitic" State which restricts Christians, subjugates women and there are no Jews. Israel is a secular nation/state with equality for all religions. There are woman and non-Jews in the Knesset, on the Supreme Court, and in the IDF. You don't have to be a Semite to be a Jew or Israeli. Who told you that?
1
@ taqiyya is propaganda, we are learning that in the West.
1
Taqiyya. BTW, the moon landing was not fake and the Bush family did not bring down the twin towers.
1
There are no "BOTH SIDES" Hamas does not have a moral "side", they are a death cult.
1
@SadaK-tr6dm No, and the moon landing was not Fake and the Bush family did not bring down the twin towers, all Taqiyya.
1
There are 1.9 million Arab citizens of Israel. Show me the comparable peaceful coexistence in Jordan or Egypt.
1
@richardKent-k8l I don't disagree, perhaps 165,000 stayed after 1948, based on some scholarship by Benny Morris and others. The 1949 UNRWA rules have made it almost impossible for there to be a peaceful resolution which would make the past, the past, and allow the region to work toward a new future. There are now 450,000 Yemini Jews in Israel. Can they return to Yemen?
1
@richardKent-k8l I don't understand what you wrote. I'd like to, but don't. Nation/States have a definition, first framed by the Westphalian Agreements in the 17th Century. It's an idea of the West. The Ottomans did not sign on to this agreement. This framework for nation/state sovereignty continued to evolve to what we have today. I'm first defined as a citizen of America. I have a social and legal contract as an American. All the other things that define me as a person are secondary to my American citizenship. I'm a free agent, I can break the contract and apply to be a citizen of another nation/state. That's individual power and freedom. Don't define me, I'll do that myself, thank you.
1
@richardKent-k8l Recent history in Israel is "bad"? "Bad" exists everywhere, always. I don't know what you are trying to say. Is Israel "Evil"? Is Israel an abomination of some kind, to your religion? Say the quiet part out loud! Tell me what "Taqiyya" is, what's its purpose, and how is it applied in "recent history"?
1
@Bill-Hicks-ashtray War is hell, so stop warring on a legal nation/state.
1
@Bill-Hicks-ashtray sure, what war have you been in, what rules did you follow?
1
@justinsimkins only about 10% don't
1
@Bill-Hicks-ashtray The US, Israel, and half the 22 Arab League States did not ratify the Rome Statute. A law with no enforcement is not a law, it's a tacit agreement, a contract easily broken. However, the overriding Rome Statute says: The International Criminal Court, self-defense is recognized as a ground for excluding criminal responsibility. Article 31(1)(c) of the Rome Statute states that self-defense can be invoked if the person acts in response to an imminent and unlawful use of force that poses a danger to themselves or others. The response must be reasonable and proportionate to the threat faced. The current threat faced by Israel is Iran and its proxies, both Hamas and Hezbollah have claimed victory, and Hezbollah is reforming on the border with Israel. Survival TRUMPS your claims of "war crimes". Israel is not interested in virtue signaling martyrdom. Grow up.
1
No, not the same. Israel did not take innocent Thai workers as hostage and make demands. Not the same.
