  1. Nonsense, Redwoods have faced fire since before humans arrived, in fact, some species require fire to propagate. Northern California has seen record rain and snow in the last 6 weeks, and NOAA's prediction of a La Nina effect is in full cycle.

  2. I live in California, too, we are in a La Nina, already record rain and snow in the Sierras, and predicted by NOAA to continue for a cycle of a few years, normal. Weather is not "climate change", and while there's no doubt overall temps increasing around the globe, the models on WEATHER cannot predict what will happen in California, or anywhere else, nor the effect of increased C02 on Redwood and Sequoia growth, which may be substantial, and positive. That's science.

  4. I was hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail near there a few years ago and it was thick with smoke due to managed fires by forest service, while natives did burn in some areas of the western hemisphere, they did not do burns in the high sierra, you are incorrect.

We closed down hundreds of fire watch towers because they intended for forest to burn, now they are looking at reopening the towers to better control fires as they break-out. We are adapting, this BBC story is BS. These forest towns need to cut back the trees so their mainstreets don't burn down.

They survived an ice age, and increased CO2 in the atmosphere may actually help, not hurt them. This video is BS.

I was on the Pacific Crest Trail a few years ago looking at the giant Sequoias through heavy smoke, fires started on purpose by forest service, more management needs to happen.

Read this article: "Why California Redwoods Love Wildfires" Poor management was the issue, and the ranger even stated that, she referred to "fire suppression". More redwood was taken in the 19th century by logging than by a change in climate, ironic, since it was climate change which made it possible for the sequoia to mature and grow in the first place.
