A "Jew", John Hammond, look it up, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hammond_(record_producer), then go back to your copy of "The Protocols of Zion".

Shirley had recording contracts and a long list of LP's, so had publishing income, but the apartments at Carnegie Hall were rent controlled and subsidized for artists, his actual living expenses there were quite modest. Shirley is mentioned in this article on the Carnegie Hall Towers, he lived in two of the rent controlled spaces before his death. https://nymag.com/homedesign/greatrooms/42385/

Thanks for that, history becomes distorted and lost by factual errors like that image, but few appreciated and understand the correction.

Yes, not an uncommon opinion in the South of the time and earlier: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_14,_1891_New_Orleans_lynchings#:~:text=The%20March%2014%2C%201891%2C%20New,mass%20lynchings%20in%20American%20history.

Oscar Levant had a TV show in the 1950's and died in 1972. Jack Paar was also off the air. Shirley did appear on TV (Arthur Godfrey), played with the Boston Pops and NBC Symphony in the 1950's. By the 1970's, his style of music was out of fashion, and I doubt any level of PR would have helped.
