Agreed, it is the double standard based on the oppressor/oppressed framework which is most egregious. However, the father of both Intifadas, Marwan Barghouti, has been in an Israeli jail for multiple murders for over 20 years. Many call him the Palestinian Mandela and would vote for him as president of a new Palestinian state.
