  1. 48:25 Mussolini was a "reasoned" Socialist prior to WW1. He understood after WW1, when the "Workers of the World" didn't unite, that a different framework was required, one of national spiritualism. A religion was made of statism. Read his 1932 "Doctrine of Fascism". It's rife with "spiritual" calls to community.

  3.  @Jaco059  "to be fair" 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar was 17,000 strong and found guilty of war crimes at Nuremberg. There's even a wiki page, easy to check.

  4.  @Jaco059  Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, is on film giving them the Nazi Salute. New film out of Egypt celebrates this man's collaboration with Adolf Eichmann and Hitler. This is not some "rabbit hole", well documented, film, photos, even a telegram from Himmler to the Hajj.

  5. Agreed, Nasser was a secular Pan-Arabist, analogous to Zionism, it was statism, but like Mussolini stated in his "Doctrine of Fascism", it must incorporate a spiritual component. Pan-Arabists used the religious emotion to power their goals. I'd say the Russian incursion Afghanistan and later war with Chechnya also had an effect.

  7.  @JacobStein1960  British gave the Hashemites the Hejaz who lost it in a war with Ibn Saud, Saud became friendly with the US just before oil was discovered in great quantities there. British made so many bad choices back then.
