  2. Niall, good researcher, but a poor analysis makes for lousy conclusions. California imported workers from China but restricted immigration. What would California be like today if a population of almost a half a billion Chinese moved against the USA which at the time had less than 80 million, and California had less than 1.5 million. Walls, like fences, make for good neighbors.

  4. 1946 film "Best Years of Our Lives", written by Robert Sherwood, has a pivotal scene that confronts this issue, where a man says "we were sold down the river, we let ourselves get pushed into war.... The Germans and the Japs had nothing against us... we were deceived by a bunch of radicals in Washington".
