I am a registered Democrat from California, have been one since 1974. Amy Haskins believes this moment to be unique in American politics. I can assure her, it is not. We survived Nixon, Reagan, and Bush 43, this is not the end of the world. Let the people decide next year who should be president. I wish I could support either of the two leading candidates, but I can't. Don't blame the GOP, we, the Democrats. are to blame, and must take responsibility for our choices over the last 30 years, including the choice of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Pelosi, and Schiff. My fellow Democrats in California have a lot to answer for, and with an early Primary in March 2020, California will be the story, not Iowa.

LBJ started a war based on his lie about the Tonkin Gulf, and Bush 43 started one using fake CIA reports about yellow cake uranium. In comparison, Trump has kept us out of a Syrian civil war, and a proxy fight in Yemen between Iran and Saudi Arabia. A person is not what they say, they are what they do. I learned early not to listen to Trump, but to analyze his actions as a whole.I am a registered Democrat from California, and while he often says things that turn my stomach, his actions do not warrant an over turn of an election. Yes, the transferred almost 500 cases from Imperial County, which is very rural, to San Diego hospitals, and the age range is lower, 20-40's, so tough on hospitals, but recovery should be in the 99% range for this age group. Hope the medical workers get the help they need, we should do more. Is it mask wearing? Do we know that, or is it social distancing and hand washing? Transmission is still not solid science, aerosol, our droplets, etc.

I worked the McGovern campaign in 1972 for the Dems, it was a mess, with McGovern's first VP choice having to step down mid-Campaign. In 1980 we called Reagan a fascist and even the anti-Christ. We were wrong, and so are you. Remember, too, Bill Clinton in 1992 only won with 43% of the popular vote, which we don't use, he won big in the Electoral College, just like Trump.
