  3. Funny, I just wrote the same before reading this. They were the NEW Intersectional Flags, too, running the length of the Store. I lived in SF in the 1990s, the snow ball was rolling then, just much bigger now.

  6. Prop 47 Statewide law allows for this, I lived in SF for 9 years in the 1980s early 1990s and it was on the rise then. CNN reported lower crime, but that's because it's no longer a "crime" so not part of the stats. The store with the locked coffee also had an aisle strewn with Intersectional Rainbow flags the entire length of the store, so it is a question of priorities.

  7. California Assembly Bill 1708 both allows shoplifting charges to be pursued as misdemeanors or felonies if that person has multiple previous offenses. Alternatively, with a judge’s approval, shoplifters can be placed into a diversion program for rehabilitation. April 2023.
