Chomsky would not differentiate between "left" or "right" when determining which "went too far", he takes his lead from Bakunin who predicted human characteristic of power would just pivot from one prevailing power structure to another. He points to the former Commissar's in the Soviet Union who easily became Oligarchs in Russia. All cut from the same cloth.

  5.  @jwilsonhandmadeknives2760  Chomsky quite loudly "condemned" the actions of the Communist Party during the Spanish Civil War? Not sure what you mean, unless you are saying he's a self-contained narcissist, which I would not disagree with, but I prefer attacking an argument, not a person.

  6.  @jwilsonhandmadeknives2760  I don't see where he identifies as a "communist", can you cite something. I am not a "fan", not at all, just responding to inaccuracies in the video. Chomsky more closely identifies as a Social Democrat and Anarchist. He's a "darling" of the left only because of his views on Capitalism, they rarely asked him about Communism, but when they do, he gives a similar answer, stating both are totalitarian structures controlled by power seeking elites. Search for videos where he talks about Bakunin.
