Massachusetts, a Northern state of similar size and avg age but higher density, has higher case rates and death compared to Tennessee since last year's winter peak. @lordofthstrings I love the guy, but agree this video missed the mark, and it made me wonder if he's concerned about his upcoming World Tour which starts in a few weeks. I think this video was a reaction to severe stress in anticipation of many, many airport visits in the next 6 months.

@sooptime I agree with you, but in my research and experience, much of our current policy and cultural dysfunction is rooted in the consequences of political reaction to HIV/AIDS by groups like ACT UP who invented slogans like SILENCE=DEATH and rationalized lying and even violence in defense of what they saw as a "clear and present danger" to their lives. That tactic from the 1980/90s has been picked up by activists of all stripes, and we are seeing the consequences most severely during this time of pandemic. Your own Premier is a product of this paradigm shift in discourse, where fantasy narratives are a virtue taken as reality.

Both Fauci and Collins worked through the "political, social, psychological and economic effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic of the 1980/90s. What they learned has informed the current response on Covid. They are wrong, but you cannot say they have no experience or expertise, that would be FALSE.

@StationGarageSt Just having some fun, I've been in database management for quite some time and enjoy the look on some collogues faces when I tell them about George Boole, they are as surprised as I was when I first heard of him, years after I did my first SQL search. We often use words, or think one thing that but later find out it's another thing. Like to see a documentary on George Boole, and your issues would come up, I'm sure. The original Boolean math has been expanded, exponentially, no math pun intended. Get ready for QBits.

"Keep in Mind" we don't know if it is "GOF", and your assumption about mutation is just that, an assumption. No question possible lab leak, but even that does not prove GOF.

@MichaelBrewick I'd not want to be so flippant and uncircumspect about something so serious, and something we know so little about. But we seem to agree this is the largest scientific experiment on humans in history, and as such we, by international law, have a choice in opting in or not. I'm 66 and opted in, not sure of my choice if it were 40 years ago. "Smell, Taste" symptom does mean "brain affected", but having a vaccine does not preclude a double affect, one from the virus, one from the vaccine. I was jabbed 3X and had symptoms all 3 times. Took a guess. How about you?

@MichaelBrewick I had symptoms in April 2020 before vaccine, took an NASID and was fine the next day, 6 months later did the same with equal result. I am 66 with low thyroid, so prone to infection. I wish there had been a full-study on NASIDs as early treatment, there are other candidates, too, but we went all in with vaccines. This was not a failure of science, but of public health policy, and reminiscent of the failures during the HIV/AIDS pandemic of the 1980/90s, Fauci and Collins players at that time, too. The WHO and NIH have played more of a political role than a scientific one.

@MichaelBrewick "cured"? Did not say that. Inflammatory response big issue with Covid, damping down with an NASID should be studied as a therapy to keep people out of the hospital. Did it work for me, don't know, but I live and work in a high density area of Los Angeles County, my neighbors are mostly in health-care, and my most severe symptoms came from the vaccine. All anecdotal, to be sure.

@MichaelBrewick "you think", I find that an odd response. I was making a general comment, not about my experience, but in regard to the public health response going all in with vaccines without much attention to therapy and early treatment. It's taken two years for a good study on cloth masks, which are now being published. We will learn much more in the next decade. We are not yet "thinking", but mostly guessing.

@PLHarpoon I've gotten push back on "density" when I've used it coming from different sides in the "argument". My point has been the epidemiology of SarsCoV2 will take at least a decade to understand. Tennessee has lower vaccination rates than the North East but doing much better in this cycle, but like Florida and Texas, has been called a "killer state". Pure politics. My local news just reported USA at a 1,600 per mil rate, numbers are too early for conclusion other than triage use.

@PLHarpoon You should also look at the new data on cloth masks, if used correctly, which is not often, only good for about 27 minutes on an adult. Imagine how effective on a child of Six?

@PLHarpoon BTW, I'm 66 in California and thrice jabbed, but if I had a child between 5 and 12, would hesitate to vaccine. Another consideration is a symptom of Covid, lack of smell and taste, this means the virus affects the brain, perhaps may lay dormant as other viruses do, and reemerge in later life. So much we don't know. This is the largest scientific experiment conducted on humans in history, people need to be allowed the choice to participate, we even have international laws that say so.
