  1. Chris Hedges is wrong, and does no favor to those who wish to believe him. The United States has never been, and was never designed to be a pure democracy. There are checks and balances which prevent "Mob Rule" or a pure democracy, and the system is more stable than the modern Parliamentary systems in Europe. Trump is closer to being an old style Liberal Democrat than what the current Democratic Party represents. which is an adherence to Marxist ideology and taking a knee to a globalist oligarchy like those in the WEF.   2. Capitalism is the most democratic system ever evented by humans. Catholics like Hedges want to return to the Socialism of the Cloister and Monastery during the middle-ages. Chris is anti-Protestant, does not believe in "Works" but "Faith" alone getting you to heaven. Chris is in fact, anti-American. Believe him at your peril, because the US still stands for "Works" and "Action", not cloistered meditation.
