When the 2nd temple was destroyed, the Romans just changed the name, as they did in many other regions of their empire, nothing special, the greeks had referred to it as Palestina long time before romans got there. i don't believe the literal word of the bible, but cherish it as a repository of cognitive human history. there is no archeological evidence of jesus, not in the roman record. Tacitus makes a claim, but it was most likely a political myth in its time.

Saying as much hides fact and knowledge, just like the one you provided. Golda Meir had one such passport. I agree, the Westphalian theory of nation/state sovereignty was never ascribed to by the Ottomans or others in the region. That's a Western idea, applied to Jordan in 1946, then Israel in 1948. Dozens of nation/states were created by the UN after WW2, many are still in dispute, like North and South Korea.

  139.  @renatozanoli8722  Even Orthodox allow conversion, a recent example is Jared Kushner, his wife converted, his children are Jews, not by maternal blood. Jews converted on the Iberian peninsula in the 15/16th Century, then came to the Western Hemisphere with Spain, their blood is now being found in Catholic women because of a certain disease only Sephardic Jews usually get. It's complicated. It's also clear many of the Spaniards who came to what is now Mexico were Muslim/Arab converts to Christianity. Even more complicated.

The deal on the table in 2000 was the best one possible, even the Saudis said it to Arafat. The Temple Mount is an issue, and not just because Sharon took that walk.
