FALSE: Pacific Palisades has home brush clearance laws on the books with $500 fines that escalate. People ignored the rules and there was a lack of enforcement. These homes were built in the 1950s before more stringent codes in place. The newer homes in Mandeville Canyon did not burn. There are new devices that protect attics from embers coming inside. Homes mostly burn from the inside out, as we learned in the Paradise fires. New vents close in high winds or constrict in high heat. You can retrofit you home to protect against embers in EAVES and VENTS.

@Ryan_Christopher Agreed, Palisades fed by the larger Upper Stone Canyon reservoir and other sources. Not just one source.

The Upper Stone Canyon Reservoir was fully functional and even used for Helicopters to scoop water, Encino Reservoir also used. The Santa Ynez Reservoir one small component taken down for maintenance not for some weird environmental cause. Those "fish" are in the Delta 500 miles away.

The *Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)* is governed by a combination of local, state, and federal regulations. The *Los Angeles City Charter* and the *Los Angeles Municipal Code* provide the framework for LADWP's operations and governance. Additionally, LADWP must comply with state and federal regulations, including those from the *California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC)* and the **Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)**. The *Board of Water and Power Commissioners* oversees LADWP and sets policies for the department. The board is appointed by the Mayor of Los Angeles and confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council.
