@greyvoice7949 Children "abide" by rules, mature adults internalized them and they become part of their free consciousness. You can't just "teach" rules for there to be true accountability, that's the problem. In a valid social contact, both sides know and understand what they agreed to. If you are powerless to "agree", or if you agree, and authority still abuses you, that is certainly an issue. Chauvin is about to learn what courts and juries are for. I only hope we all listen to the facts of the case, absorb them, and except them, but I doubt it.

Yes, Policing is a social contract, the rules of which should be understood and agreed to by both sides. You can't just train the police and hold them responsible, you must train the citizen and hold them responsible, too. That's almost the definition of a civil society.
