While it's true that Hebrew was primarily used for liturgical purposes for many centuries, it continued to be studied and maintained by scholars and religious communities. However, there was a revival of Hebrew in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly with the rise of Zionism and the establishment of the state of Israel. Today, Hebrew is a vibrant and living language, spoken by millions of people worldwide.

  4.  @ezrakhan3820  I don't agree, it was not a "dead" language, which only fits your story of "colonializations". At the end of the Ottoman Empire Jews were the majority in East Jerusalem. That does not equate to your story of colonialism, or how you define it, which is the Soviet Era definition, something adopted by Arabs and Meta-Marxists in the West. Israel was created as a nation/state at the same time as Jordan. Why the double standard?

  13.  @fortunatomartino8549  The negative focus is, IMHO. two-fold, one comes from the Pan-Arab/Islamist, including Iran, who do not want a Jewish majority in the region, and the meta-Marxists who believe Israel is complicit with the destruction of the planet by the White, Capitalist European Patriarchy. Democracy has nothing to do with it for either of them.
