  1. correct, not much different than what Americans and Canadians did to indigenous people 150 years ago. it appears to be a fight for national sovereignty. This is China's version of 'manifest destiny', and they even describe it that way. I don't think Uighur's have much of a future in their own land, pretty much a done deal, and they certainly can't expect help from the West.
