  4.  @sbvish2000  Robert Caro wrote a multi-volume work on LBJ. Johnson was ill, too, but it was his policies that conflicted with high ranking members of his party, not his health. Nixon was campaigning on ending the war, Dems with Johnson couldn't do that, but wanted to, like Eugene McCarthy and RFK Jr. While we can make analogies and comparisons to the past, on so many levels this cycle is quite unique. If the DNC is able to get Biden to step aside, leaving Harris as the candidate, they can have an energetic convention with the choice of a new VP. This would also put Harris out of danger of debating Vance, something she would most likely lose, and pits her directly against Trump, which she has a chance of winning. I don't think the race is over at all. Who would you pick as a running mate for Harris? That's what I'm thinking about.

James is a Reagan/Gingrich/Falwell conservative, not MAGA. Project 2025 is in opposition to the "Woke" agenda, they make that clear. In the 922 pages "Woke" is evoked over 30 times. One of the Four Pillars of the agenda is to reduce Executive Power, something I doubt Trump would like. LOL More gaslighting from the Left.

  9. JD Vance is married to a Woman of Color from same place as Kamala, he has bi-racial kids, and has pull in both Michigan and Pennsylvania. He's also tack smart in talking to the opposition media, I've seen him do it. He's too young and inexperienced, but not what you describe. He's got appeal to Unions which have a diverse workforce.

I'd like to see the election season reduced and OUR public television system used specially for equal time campaigning, take the donor class out of the equation. The news media is talking too much about Jeffrey Katzenberg and Peter Thiel. Corporations may be people (citizens united), but we can level the playing field in how that money is applied.

  14.  @level2344  perhaps, you think "he" added it, tax revenues were headed up with covid hit, his tax cuts produced productivity. having said that, we are in a world economy with many factors leading to national debt, but issue. can we spend our way out? can we cut spending our way out. can we tax our way out, can we cut taxes as a way out. It requires a combination of all four. Presidents write policy, only decide which policies to implement. Hope whoever is President has smart people writing that policy, and not ideologues. Both parties have them.
