As a California native I could tell video was not California, and after some research, determined it was an eight year old video of Indianapolis showing city owned charging stations no longer in use for their IndyBlue program, and the homeless encampment was in fact wrapped pallets of junk removed from a downtown building about to be demolished. I contacted the producers directly, never heard back, and the story never corrected. check it yourself.

Most folks know they are being lied to, but it's exactly what they want, and apparently willing to pay for. In the 1970s I believed if "the public" only knew the truth they would make the correct decisions. I no longer believe that. "private media" comes from the bottom up, and what people really want. You have it backwards, as I used to. "Critical Thinking" is very expensive and can have bad outcomes, "the public" does not want to invest in something which may in the end bankrupt and hurt them and their families. Greenwald has reported on examples of this very fact.
