Hejaz-Nejd War, was a campaign engaged by Saudi Sultan Abdulaziz to take over the Hashemite Kingdom of Hejaz in 1924–25, the Saudis won Mecca and Medina, as a consolation prize, the British gave Jordan and Iraq to the Hashemites. Yes, both Jordan and Iraq were colonial states created by the British. In 1967 the Hashemites lost Jerusalem, too.

  2. Israel is a word which means "To Wrestle with G_d", the ancient Greek words "To Wrestle" are Pále, so in 200 BCE the Greeks who occupied the region called it by that name Pále(stine, steen) The place or people who wrestle. I'm just guessing, but there may very well be a correlation.
