That's now called Jordan

nor should it be, only the naive think it is.

No, 20% are Palestinians, not 60%. And many on the West Bank still have Jordanian passports.
2
Why? Why did over 1 million leave their home in India for Pakistan?
1
Jordan became a Western nation/state colony on the day of its creation in 1946.

You don't get it. We don't care about them if they kill us, which they did on 10/7 and took American hostages. Jordan was gifted to the Hashemites by the Brits. Jordan is a de facto Western coloanal project.

racist

Trump holds the check book on $1 billion a year to Jordan. Hashemites lost the Hejaz to the House of Saud. Who got the better deal?
1
20% of Jordanians are UNRWA registered Palestinians. Jordan is the Palestinian State. USAID gives Jordan $1 billion a year and also funds UNRWA in Jordan. The US has leverage, bigly.

Gaza was sue a side by Cop, martyrdom, as it was clear the Saudis were gaining power in the region. The Shia are done, even in Syria, so the world still turns on the hostility of one people, the Arabs.
1
@ymichel7593 Jordan gets $1 billion in USAID each year for the more than 2 million Palistianians who live there. It's a payoff, when that needs to end.

Israel did not sign the 1948 Geneva Conventions. The Geneva Conventions were revised and updated in 1949, and Israel signed these updated conventions on December 8, 1949, with some reservations on Civilians, Israel ratified the conventions on July 6, 1951. The United States did not sign the 1948 Geneva Conventions. The Conventions were revised and updated in 1949, and the United States signed the updated conventions on August 12, 1949. The U.S. ratified the conventions on August 2, 1955.

Tell that to Turkey and its occupation of Northern Cyprus since 1974.

@canitbethat Agreed, Hamas is a designated terrorist organization, not a recognized nation/state. Even the PA is only provisionally recognized. The original comment was not about Hamas, but a civilian population who identify as Palestinian. Hamas took over as the de facto government of Gaza 14 June 2007 when they kicked out the Fatah/PA. The PA should be protecting their people by finding them refuge out of the war zone. But common-sense has long since left the region.

@Sam_lambsauce ? Jordan only became a nation/state in 1946. The Hashemites lost the Hejaz to the Saudis in the 1920s and the British gave them Trans-Jordan as a consolation prize. Too bad, then in the 1930s oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia. The Brits were out and America was in. Bad luck, old boy.
1
@Sam_lambsauce Netanyahu was born in Israel 1949. Is Tel-Aviv "occupied"? Jordan became a nation/state in 1946. Is it a Western coloanal project?

@be5005 Southern Iberian Peninsula. Many of those who came from there are descendents of North Africans during the period known as Al-Andalus

That is the thinking which has caused death and destruction in the region. Thank you The entire population of Jordan is half the size of just Mexico City.
