Rule of Law framed by a representative civil authority is the best we've achieved, evolving away from a framework of mythology, idol worship. and inferences from our animal nature. Israel is a nation/state, it has a responsibility to defend itself, the world has tempered Israel's response to Oct 7th in ways some choose not to see. Japan didn't give up when it was apparent they could not win, some in Japan wanted to die fighting, even charged the enemy without weapons just to die in battle. Some in Japan did not give up the fight even after surrender, not unlike some in the Southern US States did not give up the "Cause", but both these movements were suppressed by Rule of Law framed by civil society. That's the best "Peace" we can hope for as humans, at least for now.

No question there are some who want a "Greater Israel", as there are those who want a "Greater Palestine", difference is one has called for the total annihilations of the other from the planet, and that's Islamists like Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.
