Gaza is 365 square kilometers, Berlin is 891 square kilometers. Gaza is only 40% the size of Berlin. Why the outsized emotion for such a small strip of land?

@Deadbeat-k1l I lived the Vietnam Era, had an American draft number in 1973. What do you mean by "normal"? Syria/Yemen 1.6 million dead. Gaza crossed an international border to attack Israel. How is that comparable to America defending South Vietnam. South Vietnam, officially known as the Republic of Vietnam, had internationally recognized borders during its existence from 1955 to 1975. Your hold on historical fact is tenuous at best. There is no comparison.

@freedombro Okay, Gaza is about the size of Portland, Oregon in America, which only has a population of 650,000. Why the outsized emotional reaction to a place so small? Trump has the same perspective. The world is facing massive issues over millions of square kilometers, why so much energy focused on this very tiny strip of land?

I was born about the time of the Berlin Airlift when the Soviet Union blockaded the city Montgomery Clift starred in a movie about the Berlin Airlift called **"The Big Lift"**. Released in **1950**. The movie tells the story of two U.S. Air Force sergeant who participated in the airlift operations to supply West Berlin during the Soviet blockade.
