  10. @ Yes, our homes burn from the inside out, embers get in through vents and eaves. Older homes can be retrofit for this. I live here and work in the trade. You have strong opinions based on weak knowledge. *Vulcan Vents* are designed to protect homes from wildfire embers. They use a combination of *stainless steel mesh* and an *intumescent honeycomb matrix* to prevent embers from entering the home. The mesh stops embers from getting through, while the intumescent coating expands when exposed to high heat, sealing the vent and creating a barrier against flames.

  16. "Smelt" are 500 miles to the North of fires, nothing to do with it. We had no water shortage issue, the Pacific Ocean was right there and planes scooped water from it to fight the brush fires. We had two full reservoirs, Encino and Stone Canyon also used to fight the fires.
