Samoset was an Abenaki sagamore (a subordinate chief) who greeted the Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony in March 1621. Samoset had learned some English from English fishermen who frequented the coast of Maine. He walked into the Plymouth Colony and greeted the colonists in English, saying, "Welcome, Englishmen". Samoset played a crucial role in establishing communication between the Pilgrims and the local Native American tribes, including arranging a meeting with Massasoit, the Wampanoag chief.

  3. We don't have an official language, but a contractor I spoke Spanish to says he's lived illegally in the US for 20 years without knowing much English. A DACA recipient I know, brought to California when he was 14, was put in High School but all classes were taught in Spanish. 20 years later he was able to get citizenship but still resents that he was never taught business level English in School. He voted for Trump. I work in the building trades in California, both stories are true, and I have many more. We have plenty of citizens who can work in the trades, we don't need exploited illegal aliens. DW is skewed against MAGA. I'm an American, will a German citizen tell me why DW hates Trump so much?

  6. Only 1% are agriculture workers and we have temp Visas for them to use legally. Most are now in big cities using social services for rent and food. They get free cell phones, too. Construction is an issue, especially roofers and painters. We will adjust.

  7. No, we need a place to house the most dangerous who cannot be repatriated. If you are deported and return to the US, that's a felony you can get 20 years for. This is a serious business.
