  5.  @Joshpox  BTW, I've never considered France "Normal". We are not the EU, we don't have a parliamentary form of government. LBJ would now be considered a centre-right Democrat. Nixon changed the dynamic with his "Southern Strategy" which changed the Democratic Party, Bill Clinton brought it back to the center somewhat, but that coalition didn't last. I'm a registered Democrat in California, I first voted in 1974. In my State the Marxists began taking over in 1980. It's been down hill since then. Next cycle I'm going to register as an Independent. I worked for the DNC since I was a teenager. It's well off a cliff now, and the GOP will have a majority for the next 20 years.
