  6.  @GreenVibezIguanaDaddy  We, the US, created the nation/state of Panama when Columbia didn't want an agreement on the canal. We, the US, still maintain a neutrality agreement with Panama, one that China is interfering with. Carter took a knee. Panama became a fully independent nation on *November 3, 1903**. Prior to this, Panama had been part of **Gran Colombia* and later a province of **Colombia**. The separation from Colombia was supported by the United States, which quickly recognized the new Republic of Panama.

It was, and is, politically correct to maintain the neutrality of the canal, a canal that would not exist if not Teddy Roosevelt and the USA. Another piece of history; Teddy was the first American to win the Nobel Prize for Peace. My own congressman, Nancy Pelosi didn't even know that.
