Wayne and Stewart were friends, both worked for John Ford, also a war vet, in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance". If both Ford and Stewart were okay with it, what you think is of no concern in comparison.

@JohnJourdan8 Lindberg was refused service but gained employment in the aircraft industry that tested planes in battle conditions during WW2 where he did see combat, but not as a serviceman.

@purgatorysfinest He was a college grad, could of went in as an officer, I believe. A hero, no doubt, and good friends with John Wayne.
