The concept of the "tyranny of the majority" defines the concern for the potential of democratic systems to oppress minorities and individuals through the unchecked power of the majority. James Madison, often referred to as the "Father of the Constitution," articulated this concern in the Federalist Papers, particularly in Federalist No. 10. He argued that a pure democracy could lead to the tyranny of the majority, where a faction or a majority might enact laws or policies that infringe upon the rights and liberties of the minority. He believed that this threat could be mitigated through a representative republic, where elected representatives would deliberate and make decisions, taking into account the diverse interests and opinions of the population.

New Zealand has a population half that of my county of Los Angeles. I live in an ideological ghetto controlled by an insane majority. Americans in Iowa should not be controlled by the a majority in California. Your comparison is fallacious.

False, Senate majority confirmed all three SCOTUS nominees, we are a Republic, not a pure democracy, which the founders knew creates tyranny and chaos, just as it did in ancient Athens and now does in some European parliamentary systems. We don't need to reform an executive branch every few months when the tyranny of the majority "feels" like it.
