  2.  @craigcowen6920  I saw the same interview and had a completely different opinion of her character. I live in a "gayborhood", my former mayor is now Congressman Robert Garcia. My home is bookended by two Pride Progress crosswalks and now banners on my street. I know just how Martha feels.

  8.  @Tsimy876  not abortion as a "right", but based on the right to privacy contained in the Due Process Clause. Ruth Ginsburg was not a fan and thought better of the Equal Protection clause and a more incremental change in the laws framing abortion. The "person" has rights to due process, too. 22 weeks is viable, the State has an interest in all viable persons.

One does the State, and by that I mean our framework of civilization, have an interest in the "personhood" of a fetus. When does that begin? My concern is scientific and legal, not religious or cultural. As a civilization, based in "Rule of Law", we need to draw a line between a "clump" of cells and the existence a conscious person. Right now, science can deliver a "person" at 21 weeks. That number will decrease as science develops artificial wombs. All citizens give up some level of autonomy living in the framework of a democratic system. The famous line, your "right" to swing your arm ends where my nose begins. That's the legal and constitutional question I'm asking. Where does the right of the "host" end and the fetus begin? Right now 21 weeks is a clear line. In 10 years it might be 10 weeks, in 50 years it might be conception? In fact, it is right now if another "host" is willing to take the fetus to term. As a man, my individual code is part of the fetus. A man provides material for the conception, which does not end at conception. My DNA is unique and coded into that fetus. I have some rights, too.
